A walk followed by dinner in the rain
In WildBeare’s selected walking-trip video, sustained rain continues as she reaches the campsite after the walk. She prepares dinner outside on a small camping stove: couscous with lentils and tomatoes. The meal is part of the trip itself, following the wet approach and preceding the evening at camp.
She keeps the meal to one pot and a few ingredients, so the video can follow the whole process without a long series of preparations. The rain remains visible during the meal sequence, and she shows the finished dinner before settling in for the evening.
The cooking sequence
WildBeare puts water and chopped tomatoes in the pot and heats them on the stove. She adds cooked lentils, then stirs in couscous and takes the pot off the heat to stand before serving. The account shows 12 minutes from setting the pot on the stove to the finished meal.
As she cooks, she explains why the ingredients go in that order: the lentils are already cooked, and the couscous finishes while the pot stands. The result is a substantial single-pot dinner, with the cooking decisions visible to someone learning how the meal comes together.
Another rainy meal
In an April 2024 account, WildBeare describes cooking chicken tikka masala baps during a rainy tent trip.
