How the shortlist is ordered
Pulenaz leads for her approachable small-car nights and the attention she gives to making camp comfortable. WildBeare follows for trips organized by shelter and weather. Miranda offers a broad route into camping and backpacking, Becky brings bushcraft and outdoor skills, and Dixie is especially useful when camping is part of a long-distance hike.
This is an editorial order for a general camping viewer, weighing the subjects each creator covers and the usefulness of an entry point. It is not a subscriber ranking. YouTube displayed approximately 441,000 subscribers for WildBeare, 201,000 for Miranda, 208,000 for Girl Outdoors and 449,000 for Homemade Wanderlust when checked on October 29, 2026.

1. Pulenaz: an ordinary car as a place to sleep
Pulenaz is a good choice for the viewer drawn to a small, comfortable overnight setup. In the 'Camping with an ordinary car' comparison, she slept inside a small car in three of six selected trips from July through September 2026; two showed a tent and one left the sleeping arrangement unclear.
One trip in that comparison shows her folding a rear seat, laying down a narrow sleeping pad and moving her day bag to the front. Removable window covers give the setup privacy, and the bedding is packed away before driving on. The small space also constrains sitting up and spreading out. It is a useful watch for someone curious about making a car serve as a bedroom without a permanent conversion.
Start here if you want an in-car bed and a gentle overnight routine.
2. WildBeare: choose a camp by shelter and weather
Claire's WildBeare site organizes trip diaries, photographs and videos by weather, season and shelter type, with gear lists for individual trips. Choose a rainy tent night or another shelter from the archive.
Start with her August 2026 Rainy Umbrella Camping trip or browse her tent tests. The archive also includes car camping and bushcraft.

3. Miranda Goes Outside: an inviting route into backpacking
Miranda connects camping with hiking and backpacking. She describes starting with little knowledge of either before making outdoor content her career. Her small team includes creative director Rainer Golden and editor Abby Hagan.
Start with 'I'm Giving Hammock Camping One Last Try!' for her return to a sleeping setup, or 'I Went Luxury Camping on a $0 Budget!' for a camping comforts challenge.

4. Girl Outdoors: camping while learning bushcraft
Becky of Girl Outdoors describes learning bushcraft and outdoor skills. Her site introduces trips in southern England, camping in the Surrey Hills with family and her dog Buster, and links her YouTube channel.
Choose 'First Night SOLO Truck Camping on My Land' for a first solo truck night, or 'Canoeing In The WILD Scottish Highland’s - 3 Day Journey' for travel on the water. Her channel also describes bikepacking and other outdoor trips.

5. Dixie: practical questions for a longer trail
Jessica 'Dixie' Mills of Homemade Wanderlust is a choice for longer hikes. Her site links Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail and Continental Divide Trail journals. Its video index includes 'Things I'd Do Differently If I Hiked The Triple Crown Again' and answers to more than 100 backpacking questions.
These are starting points for gear and carrying a camp between stops.
Dixie’s first overnight backpacking trip was her Appalachian Trail hike, which she completed between March and October 2015.
