Follow one photo through the computer
Betty Van begins her explanation with an ordinary action: opening a photo to crop it. Her video follows the click from the input to the image appearing on the screen, then labels the parts doing the work. The processor carries out instructions from the editing program; memory holds working data while that program is in use; storage keeps the photo file for later.
She puts the ideas beside a real decision. If several pictures and a browser are open together, memory is part of the workspace available to those tasks. Storage answers a different question: how much room there is to keep the photos and programs when they are closed. Neither number on its own tells you whether a particular laptop will feel right.
Intel describes the processor as carrying out instructions and RAM as short-term working memory; a drive holds data for longer. Those different jobs are why a laptop’s memory and storage are listed separately.

Pulenaz chooses for photos and short videos
Pulenaz wants to edit travel photos and make short videos as a hobby. In her video she compares two laptops with the same processor and screen but different memory and storage: one has 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB drive, and the other has 16 GB and 512 GB. She first checks that her chosen editing app supports each machine, then tries the same photo and short video project on both.
On the smaller configuration the video preview pauses as she moves around the project. The larger one plays that project more smoothly in her trial and leaves more room for the files she wants to keep locally. It costs more, so she checks the difference against her budget and chooses it; she also keeps a separate backup of her photos.
Betty’s parts explanation gives the numbers a job, while Pulenaz’s side-by-side test turns them into a buying choice. Someone who only edits a few pictures may make a different choice; starting with the app and files you intend to use makes the specification sheet much easier to read.
