A reveal with a reason to wait

Pulenaz’s An Evening In and Belle Delphine’s The Dressing Room both make preparation part of the attraction. Pulenaz builds toward a finished evening look, while Belle turns the wait for a fictional appointment into a playful character story.

Pulenaz: preparing an evening look

In An Evening In, Pulenaz first arranges the room and considers fabrics, then chooses an outfit in stages. The complete look appears after the preparation, before a relaxed post-shoot conversation. The 22-minute performance makes the viewer wait for a particular reveal instead of beginning with the finished image.

The film is included in her $9 per month Slow Days membership, which also includes a monthly photo story and recorded conversation. The Missing Postcard offers another kind of suspense: a 22-minute fictional detective vignette follows an adult character searching for a lost postcard in lamplight.

Belle Delphine: an appointment as a story

Belle Delphine’s 20-minute The Dressing Room follows an adult fictional character preparing for an invented appointment. The character gathers accessories and hints at the occasion before showing the finished costume, then the accompanying visual set lets viewers see the look in photographs. The staged sequence gives sensual glamour a playful sense of anticipation.

The $11 per month membership includes a new staged story each month, captioned photo sets and production notes. An included monthly vote chooses the premise of a later fictional story.
